Some words on crowd control

We have all seen it.

Our Sunday service has just begun, and it's time for the Message for All Ages.

We ask children to come forward to the first few pews but then a sort of log jam happens!

The kids try to all mush into the front pew, then when faced with no hope of squeezing in, they look to the next rows, but there they find a few folks  wont slide over to make room.  The other week there were some children new to Channing who were at a loss by the lack of seating, and they ended up sitting on the aisle.  Not so welcoming.

We have plenty of room in our beautiful Sanctuary!  Let's make sure our children have space to sit when they are called forward.  Parents and teachers can help by encouraging people to slide towards the middle of the row.  Adults who will be staying in the service can choose a pew a bit further from the chancel.  These efforts will help the flow of our service and allow the Message for All Ages to shine.   Thanks!
